Director Ram Gopal Varma is hitting the news headlines in the recent past with his latest film 'Lakshmi's NTR'.  Apart from the routine controversies,  RGV shared an interesting incident which happened 30 years ago when he was trying for his first opportunity in the film industry.   He revealed an incident where he tried to get an appointment of Ramoji Rao to get a direction offer because RGV felt that Ramoji Rao was producing 'unconventional' films like Srivariki 'Premalekha', Mayuri',  'Pratighatana'.

So he came up with an idea and wrote an article titled 'The Ideas that killed 50 million people' for the newspaper 'Newstime' run by Ramoji Rao.  RGV revealed that the article got published and he got an appointment of Ramoji Rao later.  He said that he identified himself as a columnist and asked for a direction offer.  He said he tried to convince Ramoji that a director needs imagination and it's the technicians who need experience. But Ramoji Rao didn't get convinced with his logic but offered a job in his paper as a columnist in his paper.

RGV said that "Well, even though nothing came out of that article, that article was my first claim to fame. My family and friends were thrilled to see my name in print. I lost that article till recently a friend of mine Raja who kept it for all these years gave it to me."
