Sarileru Neekevvaru missed a golden opportunity!

Posters and publicity material may claim something but we all know the reality of the situation of Sankranthi films. We can clearly see which film is attracting audiences globally and which one's fuel tank is almost empty.

Now, we have time to look back at these films and honestly figure out what worked and what not.

For a film like Ala Vaikuntapurramuloo, music became the driving force and somehow, it made everyone think that the film is something special.

It is not entirely a special effort like Baahubali but a routine family entertainer executed well, with great ensemble cast and strong writing, with a dedicated lead star's performance became a huge blockbuster.

On the other hand, Anil Ravipudi tried to just play on Mahesh Babu's strengths and he seemed to be more interested in getting Mahesh to do things that he stopped doing for few of his films than crafting a good film around his character.

There is a good story waiting to be told in Sarileru Neekevvaru but train comedy, over reliance on trying to tell same scenes with new twists, cost Anil, a chance to work his magic like Srinu Vaitla and Koratala Siva.

Movie could have easily been a "Real Industry Hit" and the AVPL might have found itself in happy in second place, without giving raise to this poster war.

Anil Ravipudi is definitely a talented writer and director. But Sarileru Neekevvaru seems to be his first draft or at best second draft that got improvised on sets than a completed-bound script that might have fallen flat due to execution.

When you can get Mahesh kind of a star to dance literally to Mind Block and also listen to you in every scene, a little more effort in writing would have been helpful to make it even bigger success.

May be if one thinks with a cool head after abusing us for giving out such an analytical take on the film, you may agree with us too!
