Choosing a good title for a film is like half the battle is won. Filmmakers often spend hours together and brainstorm among their unit member for choosing a suitable title for their films. There are some titles which grab the attention of the audience instantly. The title of upcoming Telugu film 'RX100' is undoubtedly one of them.
Many people are wondering how could the makers get away with the title which is a brand? It is to be remembered that Manchu Manoj film was titled 'Mr. Nokia' using the popular mobile brand name Nokia a few years ago. But they had to face copyright issues because it's a brand name. The makers had to change it to 'Mr. Nookayya' later. Then how 'RX100' makers are able to continue the brand name as the title?
Director Ajay was adamant to name it as 'RX100' as he believed the title is apt for the story. As it will attract copyright issues, producer Ashok Reddy suggested the director choose another title. But Ajay took a lot of pains to keep the same title. He has approached Chennai Marketing Head of Yamaha and explained the importance of the title and RX100. He told him that RX100 bike plays a crucial role in the movie. The Chennai marketing head conveyed the same to Yamaha Head Office in Japan and got the permission from them to use the title. But they didn't allow the filmmakers to use Yamaha brand.
We have to really appreciate the efforts of the director who believed in his story and tried hard for the title. Let us wait and see how he is going to impress with the film.
