Truth behind Mahesh not taking advance for 'SLN'

Update: 2020-01-08 07:27 GMT
During the pre-release event of Mahesh Babu's 'Sarileru Neekevvaru', megastar Chiranjeevi praised Mahesh on not taking any kind of advance for doing the film. He said that not taking advance will reduce a lot of pressure of producers and lauded Mahesh on this aspect.

Looks like Chiranjeevi doesn't know the entire truth. Fact is that Mahesh made an agreement of taking 150 crores for the non-theatrical rights for his three films. With 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' being the last one of the deal, superstar reportedly took home a whopping 55 crores which is the sum of its non-theatrical rights. Sources from the industry say that Mahesh will also be taking 30% share in the profits if the film succeeds at the box-office and he will not be responsible if it fails by any chance. So, not taking advance is just a mere consolation for its producers as per reports.

'Sarileru Neekevvaru' did a huge pre-release business of nearly 155 crores including both theatrical and non-theatrical rights. Keeping Mahesh's remuneration (non-theatrical rights) aside, the film has to collect a share of around 100 crores to reach break-even. The theatrical rights for Telugu states summed up to 77 crores which are gigantic keeping in mind the heavy competition this Sankranti.
