Few Dalit Organisations in Tamil Nadu moved petitions seeking action against the makers of 'Baahubali' for using few objectionable words referring to Scheduled Castes.
Subsequently, Regional Officer of CBFC in Chennai informed one of the Petitioners that directions were passed to 'Baahubali' Makers on July 28 to remove those two words. However, The contentious words haven't been removed from the film so far.
The Counsel of the Petitioner informed the Madras High Court that his client had watched the film once again in Madurai on August 15th and found that the two words which were used in a derogatory manner weren't removed yet.
Even the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) brought to the notice of Madras High Court about directing 'Baahubali' Makers to remove the two words 'Parathai' and 'Pagadai' from the Tamil version in July itself. The CBFC's Counsel sought time from the Bench till Wednesday to ascertain the folllow-up action.
