Hyderabad is witnessing a rise in demand for enhanced cinema experiences as audiences are willing to spend more on tickets. To cater to this growing interest, multiplexes and premium cinemas are upgrading their facilities introducing advanced projection technologies and large-format screens. Several cinemas in the city are preparing to launch new formats to meet the changing expectations of moviegoers.

Four major cinemas in Hyderabad are set to introduce premium formats in the coming months. Each upgrade is scheduled to align with the release of big films or peak periods, ensuring a boost in attendance.

ART Cinemas in Vanasthalipuram, a collaboration between Mass Maharaj Ravi Teja and Asian Cinemas, will debut the EPIQ format on July 31, 2025. This will be a major addition to the city’s large-screen offerings, particularly in the eastern part of Hyderabad, coinciding with the release of the film Kingdom.

Next, AMB Cinemas in Kondapur, operated by the Asian Group and Mahesh Babu, will install a new HDR Barco projector, set to launch in August 2025. This upgrade, coming before the release of War 2 on August 14, will enhance the brightness and contrast, improving the viewing experience at one of the city’s busiest cinema hubs.

PVR Inorbit in Cyberabad plans to introduce its premium large format P\[XL] by December 2025, adding another high-quality option for movie lovers in this commercial district.

Lastly, Allu Cineplex in Kokapet, owned by Allu Arjun, will open a Dolby Cinema screen in January 2026 by coinciding with the multiplex’s inauguration. As one of India’s rarest formats, Dolby Cinema could become a major attraction in the city’s rapidly developing western suburbs.
