Game Changer: 5 Hrs Copy, Scenes Missing?
In his latest interview with a Tamil media outlet, Shankar revealed that the Ram Charan film had an extended cut of five hours footage that was shot originally.
Maverick Director Shankar is horribly out of form, and the same is evident if we look at the kind of work, he put up with his most recent film Game Changer. While Ram Charan is being appreciated for giving his everything for the film, it is Shankar, who is being blamed for his lackluster output.
After facing immense criticism for his work, for this film, Shankar has now taken a peculiar path as he blamed the extended cut.
In his latest interview with a Tamil media outlet, Shankar revealed that the Ram Charan film had an extended cut of five hours footage that was shot originally. However, a major chunk of this footage had to be edited out due to the time constraints that were in effect for the film.
Implied that the final copy of had an Alan elongated runtime of nearly 5 hours and it had several scenes and important footage. He seemed to be of the implication that the need to keep the final copy crisp resulted in chopping out of several sequences in the film.
Shankar gave the indication that the time constraints that were in place for the film meant that he had to take several creative choices to chop out important sequences.
While Shankar might have a point to make on his own, it is important that a senior Director like him keeps track of what is happening and edits out the unwanted footage right while the film is in production. Shooting five hours footage, and then blaming editing for the failure is not what is expected from a senior professional like him.
