Uneven Screen Sharing: Telugu Films Suffer as Tamil Movies Triumph
On the other side, a Tamil movie 'Leo' is getting more screens than 'Tiger Nageshwar Rao' in Telugu states, at least for the first day and the weekend.
Since the beginning of this year, the sharing of theater screens during the festive season of Sankranthi has become a prominent topic of discussion. The dynamics of screen sharing for Tollywood and Kollywood films have raised concerns, especially with major releases like Chiranjeevi's 'Waltair Veeraya,' Balakrishna's 'Veera Simha Reddy,' and Vijay's 'Varisu' in the mix. Vijay's Varisu locked significant theaters in Telugu states, leaving less screens to other two Telugu movies that became hot topic in Tollywood industry.
The trend appears to be repeating itself again with Ravi Teja's' Tiger Nageshwar Rao', Ravi Teja's film is struggling to secure screens in Tamil Nadu, with only 27 theaters confirmed as of now. This is despite the film's promising trailer and the excitement surrounding it, leaving fans disappointed as they cannot find it in multiplexes or theaters.
On the other side, a Tamil movie 'Leo' is getting more screens than 'Tiger Nageshwar Rao' in Telugu states, at least for the first day and the weekend.
This shows that while Telugu movies are willing to share their screens with Tamil movies in Telugu states, the same isn't happening the other way around. This is causing an unfair situation where Telugu movies might not get the same chance in Tamil areas.
It's important for both industries to work together and make sure that screen sharing is fair for everyone, so both Telugu and Tamil movies can reach their audiences properly.
