Just like a pebble makes waves in a still pond, the success of the Malayalam film "Savi" has sent shockwaves through the Indian film industry. The film, which delved into the life of a notorious criminal, seems to have ignited a newfound interest in crime thrillers, particularly those based on real-life figures.

One such project that has caught the attention of Cinephiles is Srinath Rajendran's upcoming Bollywood debut. The acclaimed Mollywood director, known for his gripping narratives and stellar performances, is set to bring the story of Dhani Ram Mittal to the silver screen.

Dhani Ram Mittal, often dubbed the 'Indian Charles Sobhraj,' was a notorious conman who gained notoriety for his audacious crimes. His exploits included stealing over a thousand cars, freeing thousands of criminals by posing as a judge, and even working as a station master with forged documents. The man, who passed away in April 2024, left behind a legacy of intrigue and deception.

Based on Preeti Aggarwal and Chetan Unnial's book "MoneyRam," the film is currently in development. While the cast details remain under wraps, it is expected to feature a talented ensemble of actors.

The film, produced by Insomnia Media and Content Services Limited in association with Pretty Pictures, will be shot in Hindi and released in Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu. This multilingual approach aims to cater to a wider audience and ensure the film's reach across the nation.

With the project set to go on floors in 2025, audiences can expect a thrilling and suspenseful cinematic experience. The film's success could further solidify the trend of crime thrillers in Indian cinema, proving that the 'Savi' effect is far from over.
