Not all on-set stories are about costumes and retakes; sometimes it’s the little things that stick in memory. During an interview ahead of the release of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan upcoming movie Hari Hara Veera Mallu, actress Nidhhi Agerwal didn’t just talk about costumes and fight scenes. She let slip something unexpected and oddly charming: “Pawan Kalyan garu is always seen with Telugu books. Always.” Now, that’s a different kind of weapon for a Robin Hood-style hero.
Nidhhi, who plays Panchami in the film, recalled the long journey of working on this period drama, five years in the making. From wearing heavy gold jewelry worth over a crore to prepping for classical dance scenes and even a few fights, she admits the role wasn’t a cakewalk. But being part of a big-screen fantasy with Pawan Kalyan, under the direction of Krish and later Jyothi Krishna, was more than worth it. She says every scene with the star taught her something, especially his quiet love for language and literature.
As for Pawan Kalyan himself, Nidhhi describes him as someone calm, sharp, and deeply rooted in culture. She believes doing just one film with him equals doing a hundred with anyone else, simply because of his fan following and dedication. And yes, while the world focuses on big trailers and high-budget visuals, she was busy noticing how he’d sneak in some reading between shots. That’s the kind of trivia that doesn’t make it to the posters but says a lot about a person.
While audiences gear up to watch her opposite both Pawan and Prabhas (in The Rajasaab), Nidhhi seems more focused on the work than the hype. No rush, no race. “A good film is enough,” she says. Whether it takes two years or five, she’s okay with the wait, as long as the story and character mean something. After all, even princesses on screen deserve to read a good book now and then, especially when their co-star always carries one in his hand.
