Prabhas' Salaar Surpasses SRK's Film: Box Office Battle
However, recent trends in advance bookings suggest an apparent dominance of Salar over Dunki.
The upcoming clash between the movies Salar and Dunki is drawing attention as one of the biggest box office battles of the year. However, recent trends in advance bookings suggest an apparent dominance of Salar over Dunki.
In Australia, Prabhas' film Salar has raked in around 69 thousand local dollars from 119 shows, whereas Dunki struggled to reach even 6 thousand from just 57 shows. Across the American market, Salar has shown a considerable lead, earning close to six million from over 1000 shows, while Dunki has lagged behind, collecting only 50 thousand dollars from more than 350 shows. And there are still twelve days remaining before their releases.
This situation has raised concerns within Shahrukh Khan's team regarding Dunki's advance bookings. Despite high hopes due to the success of Khan's previous movies like Jawan and Pathan, even without his active promotion, Dunki's anticipation among audiences seems weak. The release of Dunki's trailer has only added to the negative sentiment, unusual for Rajkumar Hirani, a director known for his previous blockbuster hits like PK and Sanju.
As the days go by, this disparity in advance bookings continues to widen, causing worry for Dunki's team. Even Salar's trailer did not receive an overwhelming response, but its ability to attract the masses seems stronger, aiding its initial box office performance. Director Prashant Neel is gradually engaging in media interviews, and Prabhas is expected to join promotional activities after his break from Kalki. A new trailer for Salar is set to release by the end of the second week, which might potentially impact Dunki's standing.
The growing gap in anticipation between Salar and Dunki suggests a one-sided trend, potentially reminiscent of the situation four years ago when KGF outshone other releases. This prevailing scenario raises doubts about Dunki's ability to make a significant impact upon its release.
