When you are a debutant filmmaker coming up with your first film in Tollywood, there are only two ways to grab the attention. One is to deliver a top-notch trailer that will speak more than anything else. Even if the director never utters a word, and the trailer is brilliant, it will speak for him big time. And if the first one doesn’t happen, there is a second way. And that second one is the most followed right now in Telugu film circles.

Every debutant director is actually making some strong claims, some unprovable and unverifiable claims, where they make some big claims about some big stars. And they convey this with lots of emotion, sadness, and in a death-like tone. That makes them more believable. The director of one upcoming small film, which is hitting cinemas on May 1st, stated that he has narrated a story to a hero, and the hero’s manager asked him to add elevations, to which this director replied that the hero has no fans. And further, the director added that the said hero doesn’t have fans even now. Without revealing the name of the hero, people are throwing these blinders, which get them attention.

During the promotions of Raju Weds Rambai, the film’s director has thrown many such blinders. Fortunately, that film worked in the Telangana region; otherwise, all those viral comments the director made would have gotten him trolled. Similarly, the directors of some of the small films that were released in the recent times, have made similar comments, but never openly they haven’t shared the names of any hero they narrated a story to. Of course, all these acts of debutants are not sounding like they are talking about their failed attempts, but trying their shot at ‘attention’ only. If not done right, this ends up like a syndrome only.
