IT Raids In Tollywood Continues On Day 4; What's Up
The raids began on Tuesday early morning at the officers and residences of producers Dil Raju, Mythri Naveen, Abhishek Aggarwal, and others.
The Income Tax raids at the residences of prominent Tollywood producers are still underway on the fourth day. The raids began on Tuesday early morning at the officers and residences of producers Dil Raju, Mythri Naveen, Abhishek Aggarwal, and others. However, the officials are conducting an in-depth search in the properties related to Dil Raju and his family members.
After a rigorous three-day investigation, the raids continued even today. As per the reports, the operation involved 21 IT officials scrutinizing financial records at Dil Raju’s residence and associated properties. Reportedly, the officials found some discrepancies in the financial transactions of the producer.
Dil Raju, one of the top producers in Telugu cinema, recently produced Game Changer and Sankranthi Ki Vastunnam. He was also the distributor of the film Daku Maharaaj, which was released during the Sankranthi.
The raids targeted potential discrepancies in tax filings linked to these substantial earnings. The officials also checked Dil Raju's wife, brother Sirish, daughter, and others' bank statements. Most likely, we hear that the raids will come to an end today.
In addition to Dil Raju, IT officials extended their investigations to other industry figures, including Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar of Mythri Movie Makers, whose banner produced the blockbuster Pushpa 2. The officials also raided Sukumar's office and residence.
The main reason behind the raids is that the producers claimed that they made the films with big budgets and also sought a hike in ticket prices. At the same time, they are publicizing big numbers on the release day in terms of the collections. The officials are grilling into it to bring out the facts and highlight the descrepancies.
As the dust settles, more details about the findings and any potential outcomes of the investigation are awaited by the end of the day.
