Whenever a big blockbuster arrives, there will definitely be a lot of analysis around it when it comes to its box office performance. Right now, we have a film like Dhurandhar Part 2 running at theatres and making the most from the box office, breaking some old records. However, many are wondering why the film is losing its steam in the South of India, though the audience likes it immensely. Let's have a look at it.
Dhurandhar 2 has collected ₹1400 crores already, but the film lost steam in the South of India. Rather than blaming the audience, if we look at why the film isn’t collecting more than ₹100 crores from any state, including Karnataka, Telugu states, or other places, the reasons are crystal clear.
Telugu and other South Indian audiences often love to see interviews, promotional content, and other stuff first, before heading to a movie. That’s the reason even the likes of Rajamouli promote their films big time. Maybe Dhurandhar 2 did well in A centres due to a tech-savvy crowd who grasped the film’s punch through social media, but B&C crowds didn’t get the taste of it.
On the other hand, songs are an important aspect for any film to click with the Local and native audiences. Whenever films like KGF and Kantara have succeeded in the Telugu states. The dubbed songs have played a major part in taking those films to the grassroots level audience. But when it comes to Dhurandhar, to keep the original taste and flavour of the film intact, the makers haven't dubbed the songs in Telugu. That way, there is no reach for the film into interior places and sea centres.
