3 Golden Crowns Stolen From Tirupati Temple

Three Golden Crowns have been stolen from Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati. Temple Superintendent Sri Gyana Prakash filed a police complaint in this regard.

The Crowns are of the presiding deities (Malayappa, Sridevi, Bhoodevi) at Sub-Temples weighing 1,351 gram collectively. Malayappa Crown weighs 528 gram, Crowns of Sridevi and Bhoodevi weighs 408 gram and 415 gram respectively. All the three crowns are studded with precious stones. Temple Authorities found the crowns were missing from the 12th Century Temple at 5 pm on Saturday.

Cops suspect the theft could have happened during the evening prasadam offerings. CCTV footages recorded in the temple premises and surroundings has been observed thoroughly. Investigation Officers have been suspecting everyone who were at the location when the theft happened.
