Report: 20% Of Indian Engineering Seats Are From AP/TS
In total, India has a whopping 14.90 lakh Engineering Course seats, out of which, a whopping 20% are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana itself.
The twin Telugu-speaking states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana had historically maintained a pro-academic stance, a result of which is the substantially high allocation of engineering course seats here. The same is to be understood if we look at the latest report pertaining to the total allocation and segregation of engineering seats across India.
In total, India has a whopping 14.90 lakh Engineering Course seats, out of which, a whopping 20% are from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana itself.
Andhra has 1.83 lakh engineering seats while Telangana has another 1.45 lakh. Together, the Telugu states have around 3.3 lakh engineering seats between them, which contributes to around 20% of the total tally across the nation.
Tamil Nadu stands atop with a whopping 3.08 lakh seats on its own. It leads all of India in this department and understandably so. The South Indian states alone contribute to nearly 43% of the total seats in India which is a significant feat in itself.
The twin Telugu states have a paternal culture of having its sons and daughters enrolled in Engineering as a primary degree of higher education. This phenomena is evidently having its effect, going by these numbers.
