It is known that the IT minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Lokesh is currently in Davos as he is taking part in the ongoing World Economic Forum. He is leading recharge for Andhra Pradesh Pavilion at this forum, and he has now commented about the importance of enhancement of AI(Artificial Intelligence) facilities in Andhra Pradesh.

Speaking at the forum, Lokesh revealed that Andhra Pradesh is in talks with global tech giants to bring AI enhancement and research facilities in Andhra Pradesh. He further added that the state emphasis is on developing data centres locally in order to lead the AI revolution across the globe.

In this context, Lokesh met the representatives of Cisco and discussed the possibility of setting up AI development plants in Andhra Pradesh

Lokesh met Francine Katsoudas, Vice President, CISCO, at Davos Belvedere to discuss potential collaborations. He proposed establishing a Cisco Global Capacity Center (GCC) in Visakhapatnam and expanding their manufacturing network in Andhra Pradesh.

“Our conversation also touched on skill development programs to enhance AI, networking, and cybersecurity expertise in the state's vast IT talent pool. Katsoudas shared that Cisco's largest Global Development Center outside the US is located in Bengaluru, and the company is keen on expanding to leverage India's efficient human resources. She has agreed to consider our proposal before arriving at a decision. Hoping for the best” he stated.

The IT minister further added that the Andhra Pradesh government is considering the idea of integrating AI education from class 7 to 9 in the state syllabus. Rep projected that the AI market will be reaching a mighty 2.74 trillion market cap by the year 2032. He proposed the plan to have Andhra Pradesh AI city of India. This is a very ambitious plan and could reap rewards if implemented successfully.
