The political heat in Andhra Pradesh increased at once with the arrest of the TDP Senior leader, Former Labour Minister Atchannaidu in connection with the much talked about ESI scam.
Along with the former Minister, two doctors were also arrested by the CBI sleuths. Some media reports claim that the ACB may arrest the former Ministerâs son also in this regard.
The Vigilance department which dug deep into the scam has found out that the order to procure drugs and other medical equipment was given to M/s TeleHealth Services Pvt., Ltd without calling fr legal tenders.
It is found out that, the medical equipment and surgical items were purchased from these companies with 50% to 129% higher prices when compared to the market prices.
If the media reports are to be believed, Atchannaidu who was then the Labour Minister written to Insurance Medical Services (IMS) director Dr. CK Ramesh Kumar to give the order to the M/s TeleHealth Services without proper procedure.
Looks like the letter was written by the former Minister might land him in trouble as the investigation could stress on what forced him to pressure the then IMS director to allot the order to the companies.
