A survey States Lion Share Of Kids In 4 States Don't Have Access To Smartphones
Following the outbreak of the ongoing pandemic, everything came to a standstill and even the educational institutions were shut. To cover the syllabus, educational institutions are conducting online classes.
In the wake of this, a recent survey conducted by a child rights body on access to facilities has shown the ugly truth of lack of facilities to facilitate online education.
The outcome of the survey conducted by child rights body CRY is that around 94 percent of the students who took part in the survey don't have access to smartphones.
The child rights body surveyed with as many as 5,987 students who hail from the southern states Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana. These students are between the age group of 11-18 years.
The survey was conducted to look into the actual data of how many students can cope up with the online classes which has now become the new normal.
According to the survey, Karnataka is doing better with the facilities as around 9 percent of the respondents from the state possesses access to smartphones, followed by Tamil Nadu with 3 percent.
