The Union government has already announced that the historic vaccination drive against the Coronavirus pandemic will be started across the country from the 16th of January, 2021.
In a video conference held with the Chief Ministers of the states on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the states to discuss the COVID-19 situation and the vaccination rollout.
Ahead of the massive vaccination drive, international public health body World Health Organization(WHO) issues key directives to India over vaccinating the public in the nation.
The WHO said people with a history of severe allergic reactions, pregnant women, women who breastfeed, and kids under the age group of 16 should be barred from vaccinating.
The WHO also said that given the power of the Covid-19 vaccines, is advised to stay away from pregnancy for not less than three months.
Mentioning the effectiveness of the vaccine on ' HIV-positive people, the World Health Organization(WHO) said, there is limited data available on the clinical trials on them and suggested that, HIV-positive people should be informed the same before the vaccination.
