CM's Wife Loses 23 Lakh Due To Cyber Fraud

Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh's wife Preneet Kaur has fallen prey to a cyber fraud and ended up losing Rs 23 lakh.

Few days ago, Congress MP Preneet Kaur received a phone call while being in the national capital for the ongoing Parliament Session. The Scamster posed as if he is the Manager of a Nationalised Bank and sought her bank account details to deposit her salary. In that way, He obtained the Account Number, CVC, ATM Pin and even OTP (One Time Password). It didn't take much time for the CM's Wife to realize that she was duped of Rs 23 lakh with the SMS received by her. Immediately, She alerted the police about the cyber fraud.

Based on the phone number, The Scamster was traced in Ranchi, Jharkhand. Punjab Police took the accused into custody and brought him to the state from Jharkhand.

Cyber Frauds kept increasing day-by-day. The situation can be understand if a CM's Wife gets duped of Rs 23 lakhs. Creating awareness among public & Stringent Punishment to the scamsters are the steps government has to take.
