Andhra Pradesh witnessed MLC polls recently. While campaigning for the Teachers' constituency, the YSRCP leaders promised that salaries and other benefits will be given on time. Many wondered how this can be a promise as the government has to give salaries on the first of every month.
However, the East Rayalaseema Teachers' constituency win could not reduce the problems of the employees. Their demands are not addressed and they are fighting for the same. Seeing this, the Andhra Pradesh employees decided to take an aggressive route for their demands.
Demanding the Andhra Pradesh government to look into their issues and address them, the AP JAC Amaravati is gearing up for another intense protest. The next phase of protests will start on the eighth of this month and will last till the 29th. Employees would actively take part in these protests. Employees will also wear black badges.
The employees and the bodies held a press meeting to announce their further plans. They are saying that their position is such that earlier they used to fight for their demands and now they are fighting for their salaries.
No words can describe the pain of the employees. The employee unions supported the YSRCP before the 2019 general elections believing that their demands like scrapping CPS would be addressed. But that did not happen. Forget about addressing the demands, the employees are not even getting their salaries on time.
Earlier, the government employees started a protest titled Chalo Vijayawada. Employees gathered in big numbers to make the protest a big hit. Chalo Vijayawada became successful to a level that even the national media covered the news at that time.
It appears that the employees are all set to create another big protest on the lines of Chalo Vijayawada. We have to wait and see what the employees will do with the new protest.
If we compare the situation of the employees in the previous government and the current government, they were in a demanding situation and used to demand the government what they want. But the tables have turned now and the employees are fighting for their salaries. No one can assure when the salaries would be credited.
