The economic intelligence agency Enforcement Directorate which is probing the multi-crore money laundering case had made a big breakthrough and attached assets worth hundreds of crores against a firm and an actor-producer. The total worth of the assets attached is more than four hundred crores.
In the case that traces back to last year, the ED officials had attached assets worth around Rs 410 crore against a company that is related to popular actor-producer Sachin Joshi. The attached properties include buildings and open land. While the flats are worth around Rs 330 crore, the open land is said to be around Rs 80 crore worth. The properties belong to the Omkar film of Sachin Joshi.
Looking at the developments that made the Directorate of Enforcement step into the case, an FIR was filed in Aurangabad. With crores of money involved in this, the concerned cops probed the matter from various angles to gather as much information as possible.
As it was found that a money fraud angle was involved in the matter, the ED entered the case and called for the raids in a few places. Connecting all the doubts, the ED officials have arrested a few people like Sachin Joshi and the Managing Director and Chairman of the firm.
Sachin Joshi who suffered a big shock with the High Court canceling his bail had knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court to get bail. After hearing arguments of both sides, the Apex Court granted bail to Sachin Joshi in connection with the alleged money laundering case.
It is said that the outcome of the investigation was that the money laundering angle was busted when the investigation officers had detected that Rs. 410 Crore was fraudulently raised by a firm and the money gathered was then diverted to the sale of the Omkar Group building.
Actor-producer Sachin Joshi is also said to be involved in the money laundering case. The investigation officers are digging deep into the matter to look for other pieces of information. More details are awaited and the concerned officials are expected to provide more details in connection with the matter soon.
