AP Minister Atchannaidu faced criticism after backtracking on the poll promise of pension for unemployed youth. Media highlighted his comments that pension can't be sanctioned for unemployed. Soon, The First-Time Minister tried to cover the damage by saying few media houses has misconstructed his statement.
Speaking to media persons, Atchannaidu told, 'I never said monthly pension can't be given to unemployed. But, There are no records on number of unemployed youth in the state. Currently, We are conducting an exercise to know the exact figure and even studying how the scheme is being implemented in other states'.
Atchannaidu has formally opened his chamber in the new secretariat at Velagapudi. He informed that around two crore people were receiving life insurance cover under Chandranna Scheme. The Minister claims Youth Policy & Youth Sub-Plan would be introduced to create employment opportunities.
