Here are the warning bells for the BRS. The party cadre is largely staying away from the ambitious "Atmeeya Sammelanams" being organized by the party across the state. The aim of these meets is to activate the party cadre.
But the cadre is reportedly looking the other way in many constituencies, say reports. Sources also reveal that though KTR himself has conducted several tele conferences to enthuse the cadre, things aren't looking up for the BRS.
Another major problem stalking the party is the deep divisions within the party. In most constituencies, there is intense groupism and the party leaders are working at cross purposes. For instance, in Vikarabad, there is deep anger against sitting MLA Methuku Anand. His and former minister Patnam Mahender Reddy at loggerheads. Similarly, there is rivalry between MLA Rohit Reddy and Patnam Mahender Reddy.
In Medchal district, MLA Vivekananda and MLC Shambhipur Raju are engaged in a battle for supremacy. Vivekananda is not inviting the supporters of the MLC to the Atmeeya Sammelanams. Ditto with MLC Kasireddy Narayana Reddy and MLA Jaipal Yadav in Kalwakurthi. The story is the same in Nagarjunasagar where sitting MLA Nomula Bhagat and MLC Kotireddy are clashing. As a result, the atmeeya sammelanams have failed to yield the expected results.
Realising that the meets are not achieving the objectives, working president KTR has held tele conferences with the key leaders in various constituencies. However, despite his tele-conferences, the situation has not changed in many constituencies, say political observers.
