Government of India gave a clear assurance on dispensing of higher denomination currency Today. Finance Ministry informs ATMs will start dispensing Rs 500 and Rs 2000 notes by November 15th.
To activate all the channels for dispensing of cash, Government is mulling to establish a large number of Micro-ATMs across the country.
It is already known that Centre increased the withdrawal limit from recalibrated ATMs from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 per day. A task force working under Deputy RBI Governor is working on increasing the number of recalibrated ATMs.
Whereas, Banking correspondents are now permitted to withdraw cash multiple times as opposed to only once per day so far.
