The Deepotsav observed in Ayodhya, the birthplace of Hindu deity Lord Rama entered the Guinness book of world records. Guinness World Records representatives were present during the Depotsav organized by the Uttar Pradesh government. The event took place on the banks of the River Saryu that flows through Ayodhya. In this event, more than five and a half lights were lightened.
The Government of Uttar Pradesh conducts Deepotsav every year. In the starting years, the count was around 50,000 and now its more than 5,00,000. Reportedly, the government has conducted this event to enter the Guinness Book of records. Almost 50,000 lamps were lightened in every ghat there.
