The political fever gripped Karnataka which is awaiting the general elections. The major parties are giving their best efforts to woo the voters and are also going after the film stars. Film stars enjoy a massive fan following and the parties want to bank on the same. For the past few days, it has been reported that Kiccha Sudeep would join the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The star hero gave a new twist to the tale and said that he will not enter politics. However, he said that he would campaign for the party. He held a press conference with Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and announced the same. He said that he is close to Bommai and fondly calls his godfather his uncle and supports him.

With the statement, one thing is confirmed, the Karnataka elections will see a tar campaigner for the BJP. As he is one of the star heroes in the industry, his fan following would help the saffron party. The majority of the heroes there are fans of Modi. During Kantara celebrations, Rishab Shetty said he is a big supporter of the PM.

The communities are going to come in handy in the upcoming polls. Earlier, the Karnataka government scrapped the quota of Muslims and fixed it to Vokkaligas and Lingayats, the dominant communities. The two communities hold up a major share of the population and the BJP wants to bank on them.

Sudeep hails from the Nayaka caste which falls under the Scheduled Tribes in Karnataka. The community accounts for seven percent of the population in the state and this might benefit the party.

"I am not joining politics. I am here to support CM Bommai & will campaign wherever he tells me to campaign. I am a citizen of this country, pay my tax & as a citizen, I like certain stands taken by PM Narendra Modi," Kiccha Sudeep said.
