BJP To Project Congress Veteran As Vice President Candidate

Update: 2021-10-30 07:12 GMT
The Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is busy making plans on zeroing on a candidate for the next Vice President candidate as the elections are scheduled to be held in March 2022. Keeping all the equations in mind, BJP is said to be making the list of candidates.

According to the political observers, BJP wants to project veteran Congressman Ghulam Nabi Azad as the Vice President candidate. With this, the saffron party is aiming to hit two birds in one hit. BJP has bigger plans with Ghulam Nabi Azad.

BJP reportedly wants to give state status to Jammu and Kashmir in the future and go for the elections. As Azad had the experience of serving as the Chief Minister of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir, BJP is said to be in plans to make him instrumental in the elections.

Given the fact that Azad has a better understanding on the affairs of Jammu and Kashmir, he will play a big role if BJP makes the region into a state.

Another reason for this is, Azad is one of the 23 rebels that are questioning the leadership of the Congress party. The Congress party will have to vote in favour of Azad as he belongs to the Congress party.

If everything goes well according to the plan, BJP will make way for Azad to get elected as the Vice President unanimously. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has close relations with Azad he is said to be the final pick for the post.

On the other hand, key personalities from poll bound Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra are also in the race. Given the performance of BJP in these states and how much the BJP had to depend on these states based on the MP seats, the members in the list will increase.

The other equation is that if Gulam Nabi Azad or Sharad Pawar was made the Vice President, the serving Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will be promoted as the President. If this happens, then we can see a Telugu person as the Honorable President of the country. Let us wait and see how BJP deals with the posts
