With the nationwide lockdown, most office goers are confined to their homes, and the Central government is now considering the same frame 'Work from Home' guidelines for its staff even in a post lockdown scenario.
A draft paper set by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances has suggested that employees can be provided with the option for 15 days in a year.
"Therefore, a broad framework for Work from Home is important to standardize the operating procedure even post Lockdown situation and to ensure safety and security of information, while accessing Government files and information remotely from home," the draft says.
"As per instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs, no classified information shall be handled through e office. Therefore, classified files shall not be processed in e office during work from home," the draft guidelines said.
The guidelines also say that employees would be provided laptop/desktop by the respective Ministries/Departments and they may also get reimbursement for internet services.
