The Diwali season, one of the leading festivals in the country, is just days away and people are rushing to the famous shopping areas across the country to shop. On top of this, the prescribed Covid protocols like wearing masking and following physical distance with others went for a tool at these places raising a lot of concerns.
People not giving much importance to the protocols at the shoppings malls had brought a new debate that India will face another wave of Covid. We have to admit that the second wave emerged in the country after people had let their Covid guard after the first wave.
There are a few similarities in the current situations and the situations that prevailed after the first wave. In both situations, people did not pay much attention to following the protocols. While the situations after the first wave had led to a disaster, experts are fearing that the same situation might repeat.
We can see people on roads and outdoors not wearing facemasks. This is a dangerous trend that is prevailing in the country. If not taken proper care of, we might face another wave. The medical facilities that were hit hard in two waves might not tackle another wave. If a third wave enters the country, we might see a medical emergency.
While people letting their Covid guard down is a very big concern, there is another concern that is fewer vaccine numbers in a few regions. Though we have crossed the 100 crore mark in vaccinations, a few regions have reported very few vaccine numbers and these numbers are in danger and the issue should be addressed as soon as possible.
A recent survey has shed light on the opinion of the public on the Covid protocols. The participants of the survey said that only a lesser percentage are following the protocols and the percentage of people who think the protocols will be effective is very less.
