A Chennai-based young consultant is now much sought after in the political circles of the Telugu states. He is in demand in both the Telugu states. He is being roped in to advise the political parties on election strategies for both the Congress and the TDP. In AP, he will advise the TDP, while in Telangana, he will advise the Congress Party and its state chief Revanth Reddy.
The poll consultant who goes by the name Sunil Kanugolu originally hails from Vijayawada but has later shifted to Chennai. He had joined team Prashant Kishore after working on several foreign assignments. Kanugolu had in the past worked with the TRS and has handled its highly successful social media campaign in 2018 assembly elections.
He has now left Team PK and is working on his own. TDP chief Chandrababu reportedly roped him in after he found the incumbent consultant Robin Sharma inadequate. Robin's election strategies have boomeranged in the 2019 elections. Later, he also helped Chandrababu Naidu with the Budvel and Tirupati bypolls, besides the municipal elections. Chandrababu felt the strategies suggested by him were ineffective. So he has opted for Sunil Kanagala.
Even Revanth Reddy, who famously said that every Congress worker was equal to 10 PKs, has opted for Sunil Kanagala. With KCR and KTR getting advices from Prashant Kishor himself, it would be interesting to see how Sunil Kanugolu would perform.
