Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao introduced another scheme for the welfare of the farmers. He named the new scheme offering Rs 4,000 per Acre to the farmers for investment purpose as 'Rythu Lakshmi'. A GO to this effect will be released during the ongoing budget session.
State Government is now focusing on how to resolve the technical issue for smooth implementation of the scheme. Over 10 lakh cheques to be issued by SBI and Andhra Bank alone. The figure on a cheque can't exceed six digit (max Rs 9,99,999). So, Agriculture Department Commissioner is considering issuing cheques through various accounts.
If the beneficiary is eligible to receive over Rs 50,000 based on his land bank, Then second cheque would be issued. The amount on each cheque won't exceed Rs 49,999.
Distribution of Cheques will begin on April 20th and ends on May 15th in three stages. CCLA is finalizing the list of beneficiaries at present. Initial estimates show the count of beneficiaries might exceed 71 lakh. Based on the details offered by CCLA, Bank will begin printing of cheques. A mechanism has been developed to correct errors in the cheques within 30 days. Six National and Two Regional Banks have been printing cheques. Deadline of April 19th was set for printing cheques required for the First Phase.
