Amid growing speculations and reports on when the next Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) will be announced, the All India Congress Committee came up with a piece of new news.
After taking the suggestions of the senior leaders from the Telangana wing of Congress, Telangana AICC in-charge Manickam Tagore reportedly decided to postpone the TPCC appointment.
The AICC has opted for the option to postpone the TPCC appointment till the much-awaited Nagarjuna Sagar by-elections. After the elections, the new Telangana boss will be announced.
Media reports claimed that the party took the decision so that the internal disputes between the senior leaders and aspirants of the post will hinder the party which is getting weaker with each day passing.
One more reason for this could be, the by-elections are expected to be commenced in a few months, which makes it difficult for the newly appointed TPCC to cope up with the party and lead the party in the campaign.
The Nagarjuna Sagar by-elections are now more crucial for the Congress party which is currently going through a tough period by losing consecutive elections in Telangana.
Former TPCC chief, MP Uttam Kumar Reddy will serve as the interim TPOCC chef till the next leader takes the office. He has resigned from the post taking responsibility for GHMC loss.
Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy and Bhongir Lok Sabha member Komtireddy Venkat Reddy are said to be in the race for the TPCC post. While the Delhi leadership wants to make Revan the new chief, senior leaders are against the decisions.
