Constant Rise In Covid-19 Raises Doubt Of Second Wave!

Update: 2021-03-12 13:47 GMT
Over the past few weeks, India has been witnessing a spike in fresh infections of the ongoing pandemic. India is maintaining a steady growth in the new cases which is an area of concern for the country.

In the last 24 hours, India reported not less than 23,285 and the nationwide tally rose to 11,308,846. The count of fresh infections doubled in one month. On February 11, India added over 10,000 which is doubled now.

The sudden rise in fresh infections has raised the doubt of the second wave of the pandemic in India and experts are expressing their concerns that another lockdown might be imposed to curb the infections.

Maharashtra had already imposed strict lockdown in a few regions to curb the infections and combat the virus spread. Some regions have reported a spike in fresh pandemic infections.

The pandemic situation in India is reminding everyone of the second wave in European countries. Just like how it happened with India, the US, Italy, Russia, UK, and other nations have contained the virus initially, but faced the wrath of the pandemic after the infections increased suddenly.

In India, six states have been reporting a spike in fresh cases causing fear in the authorities. These six states have been registering thousands of cases daily.

The other day, the Union Government urged everyone to not take the Coronavirus for granted, citing the Maharashtra situation and said if everyone wants to see India Covid free they have to maintain Covid-appropriate behavior.

If the Covid infections continue to increase at the same speed, then India will also face the wrath of the second wave of the pandemic. To curb the infections, India might impose one more lockdown which will push the economy to deep losses once again.
