In what it could be a shocker, patients of the novel coronavirus were lying very close in a hospital ward to the dead bodies that were wrapped up in body bags. This shocking incident took place in Mumbai at the Sion Hospital.
In the video, we can see at least seven bodies in the ward and the patients who were undergoing Coronavirus treatment were also very closed to the bodies raising many fears and concerns.
Nitesh Rane, BJP MLA took to Twitter to share the shocking video of this incident and termed this as shameful."In Sion hospital, patients are sleeping next to dead bodies!!! This is the extremeâ¦what kind of administration is this! Very very shameful!!", his Tweet read.
The authorities of the Sion Hospital responded quickly and said that the video might have recorded before the consent of the deceased families to remove the bodies from there and said that infection cannot be spread once the body is packed in a body bag.
Maharashtra turned out as the worst-hit state in the country with the state reported around 16,800 cases making it the first state to report more than 16,000 cases.
