Did 30 Lakh People Migrate To TS From Andhra?

Update: 2023-04-14 15:27 GMT
As an unexpected thing, Telangana leaders are showing concern towards Andhra Pradesh and its interests. The ruling party in Telangana strongly opposed the Vizag Steel plant privatization and even became ready to participate in the bidding. Things went through many twists and turns and we are seeing an intense war of words between AP and Telangana leaders.

The other day, Telangana Finance Minister Harish Rao gave a strong warning that it would be good if AP leaders won't comment on the state as there is no competition between the two states. Leaders of two Telugu states also fought over who is the reason behind the Centre taking a backstep on Vizag Steel Plant privatisation.

Amid this, a BRS MLA made some interesting comments. Peddi Sudharshan Reddy alleged that around 30 lakh people from Andhra Pradesh migrated to Telangana. Crediting the welfare and development, the MLA said that this made the people take the decision.

The comments made by the MLA raised many eyeballs as 30 lakh is not a small number in the population. It is almost the size of a small town. At the time of state bifurcation, Telangana's budget was in surplus and it has Hyderabad, one of the metro cities. Telangana is in a better position and Andhra Pradesh is yet to have a capital city.

Recently, JD Lakshmi Narayana in an interview said that many people transferred their gas connections to Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. So we have to believe that many people moved to Telangana from Andhra Pradesh. As Telangana is in a better position, people might have moved here. But there is no concrete evidence to countercheck if 30 lakh people moved here really.

On the other hand, elections are due in Telangana and the BRS wants to win the coming polls. It has also been mentioned here that the party is making efforts to enter Andhra Pradesh as part of its idea to shine in national politics. As it wants a key aspect to enter the state, the leaders might have started the war of words. There are many pending issues between the states, and instead of trying to sort them out, the leaders are arguing with each other.
