Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman received the shock of her life. A group of DMK Workers hurled stones and slippers at her car over Centre delaying the establishment of the Cauvery Management Board.
Stones hit the rear end of Nirmala Sitharaman's car but hardly there was any damage to the four wheeler. DMK Workers involved into the attack had been arrested.
Nirmala Sitharaman was on a visit to Ramanthapuram and Viirudhunagar district for the review meeting of Central Government schemes. She ended up facing the wrath of locals for ignoring the Supreme Court order for political reasons.
On February 16th, The Supreme Court directed Centre to set up Cauvery Management Board for distribution of water between Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. However, BJP-led NDA Government kept delaying establishment of board considering the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Polls.
