Amid COVID-19 lockdown, the National Commission for Women had released the data of complaints received in online between 27th February to 22nd March and 23rd March to April 16th.
When compared to the first block (27th February to 22nd March), the domestic violence cases had increased greatly in the second block, during the lockdown period.
While there are 396 complaints in the 25 days between 27th February and 22nd March and 587 complaints between 23rd March and 16th April.
This data of National Commission for Women shows how the domestic violence on women spiked in lockdown period. Apparently, the divorce cases are also increased in recent days.
