Congress senior leader Sai Prathap on Thursday joined Telugu Desam party in the presence of Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu.
Sai Prathap got elected to Lok Sabha six times from Rajampet Lok Sabha segment (1989 to 1999, 2004 & 2009) and also served as Union Cabinet Minister. He is always known to be a Congress loyalist and close friend of late YS Rajasekhar Reddy. In the last election, He contested on Congress ticket and got defeated by YSRC Candidate Mithun Reddy.
As he is an influential leader in Kadapa district, TDP Leadership paved red carpet for Sai Prathap to strengthen the party in the district. Even the caste equation works in favor of TDP as he is from the dominant Balija Community.
