MLA held captive by People for 4 Hours

BSP MLA Baban Singh Chauhan has been held captive by a group of villagers protesting against the frequent power cuts and erratic supply of drinking water in Alinagar Area of Mughal Sarai Assembly segment, Uttar Pradesh.

The Protesters tied the MLA to his chair for around four hours. A first of its kind incident took place in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

When the MLA and the husband of a local corporator visited Alinagar area to convey Eid greetings, People alleged that the public representative has completely ignored the issues in the constituency. After a heated argument, The legislator and the corporator's husband got up to leave but their attempts have gone in vain. The protesters tied them to the chairs in which they sat for four hours and they were freed only after the intervention of cops.

Villagers demanded MLA to switch the power supply from rural to city feeder so that such measure would prevent frequent power cuts.
