Few European nations suspend AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine!

As a precautionary measure, - Denmark, Norway, and Iceland have stopped the usage of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine temporarily after people who took the vaccine developed post-jab blood clots, media reports claimed.

Out of the three nations, Denmark was the first nation to take a call on vaccination suspension. Denmark Health Authority in its statement said the decision was taken after reports of beneficiaries developing blood clots emerged.

The decision to temporarily suspend AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine after not less than 9, 22 cases of blood clots had been reported as of 9th of March. These cases were reported out of over three million vaccinations held in  European Economic Area.

Denmark said it had decided to suspend the vaccine after a  49-year-old nurse breathed her life days after receiving the vaccine. She died of severe blood coagulation problems.

On the other hand, four other European countries- Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Luxemburg have also announced a temporary suspension from the vaccine batch. The vaccine consignment was provided to nearly 17 European countries.

Anglo-Swedish pharma giant AstraZeneca joined hands with Oxford University to develop the vaccine dose.AstraZeneca's vaccine doses reached several nations.

With several European nations suspending vaccine use temporarily, the vaccination drive in these nations is expected to get slow down by a bit. However, there is no information on how long the temporary suspension will last.
