4 Indian-Americans Face Arrest For H-1B Visa Fraud

Four Indian-American Executives of Two IT Firms were arrested for allegedly misusing the H-1B Visa Programme to obtain more favours than what their competitors had been receiving.

Vijay Mane (39), Fernando Silva (53) and Venkataramana Mannam (47) from New Jersey and Sateesh Vemuri (52) from California were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud. Vijay Mane appeared before US Magistrate Judge Wettre on June 27th. Fernando Silva and Venkataramana Mannam appeared before Judge Leda Dunn Wettre on June 25th. Sateesh Vemuri appeared before Judge Steven C Mannion on July 1st. All the four Executives were released on $250,000 bond.

Vijay Mane, Fernando Silva, Venkataramana Mannam and Sateesh Vemuri controlled two IT Staffing Companies (Procure Professionals Inc, Krypto IT Solutions Inc) in Middlesex County, New Jersey. If the charges are proved, Maximum punishment of five years in prison should be served and a USD 250,000 fine has to be paid.
