Gokul Cooperative Urban Bank CEO J Balaiah Yadav was arrested by the CCS Police for allegedly cheating eSeva operated by Information Technology department of Telangana Government. He is facing charges of diverting Rs 3.06 crore towards loans for himself and office bearers without any appropriate surety/security.
Ban Officials have splurged the loan amount on cars, gold and other expensive goods. About 12 Members of the bank including the Chairman have been under the scanner now. They used benami names to obtain loans for themselves. Out of Rs 9,12,04,842 collected from citizens for various government charges at the eSeva facility, The Gokul Bank was able to submit cheques for just Rs 5,66,80,166.
