Good News to India: GST Revenue for April sees new high

As a piece of good news to India, which is not leaving any stone unturned to tackle the Covid-19 outbreak, the revenue collections of gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) for April have clocked new records.

In the press note, the Union Government said, for the month of April, India's GST Revenue has reached a new milestone with Rs 1,41,384 crore. The collections include Rs 1,41,384 crore CGST and Rs 68,481 crore IGST.

Over the past six months, India's GST Revenue has been in big numbers. Taking forward the trend, April too made a record revenue by clocking 14 more revenue compared to March.

"In line with the trend of recovery in the GST revenues over past six months, the revenues for the month of April 2021 are 14 percent higher than the GST revenues in the last month of March'2021," the government said in the press note.

Maintaining a steady rise in the GST revenue, India recorded more than one lakh crore revenue for the seventh consecutive month, despite the deadly impact of Covid-19.

On the other hand, April recorded an increase of 21 percent revenue from the domestic transactions and import services compared to the previous month.
