Swami Dayananda Saraswati passed away at his ashram in Rishikesh on Wednesday night at the age of 85.
Reportedly, Dayananda Saraswati has been suffering from few age-related health issues since some time. He was admitted in hospital 10 days ago as his condition deteriorated.
Dayananda Saraswati was born in the year 1930. He was known as Natarajan before he was attracted to Indian philosophy (Advaita School) after getting influence by the preachings of Swami Chinmayananda. He became Swami Dayananda Saraswati after his transformation into Sanyas in 1962.
Vedanta lessons at the Sandipani Sandhanalaya set up by Dayananda Saraswati in Mumbai has influenced hundreds of people. Setting up schools for Under Privileged as part of the Seva Movement is another notable contribution. He also launched Acharya Sabha which brought pontiffs all over the nation on one platform to promote Hinduism.
