IAS officers buy electronic gadgets with GHMC money, refuse to surrender after transfer

At least 30 IAS officers, who had purchased costly electronic gadgets using government money while working in the GHMC, have not returned them even after being transferred from the post. The officers are usually buy electronic gadgets like mobiles, notepads and laptops using government money during their tenure at an office. When transferred, they are expected to surrender these gadgets.

For instance, senior IAS officer Dana Kishore purchased a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 during his tensure as the GHMC commissioner at a cost of Rs 89999. He has since been transferred to the Metro Water Board, but has not surrendered the gadget. Another IAS officer Pradyumna got an Apple I Pad at a cost of Rs 64900. Though he has since been transferred, he has not cared to surrender the phone.  Ditto with IAS officers Shivakumar Naidu, Sikta Patnaik, Ahmed Babu, Kishan, Amrapali, Bharathi Holikera, Musharaf Ali and Sandip Kumar. They have not surrendered the costly gadgets they bought during their tenure in the GHMC.

The only exception, according to sources, is IAS officer Advait Kumar Singh, who surrendered the electronic gadget he bought for the GHMC work using government money. Sources also say that GHMC commissioner Lokesh Kumar is the lone honourable exception. He is using his personal mobile instead of GHMC mobile. Also, he walks down from the temporary secretariat in Burgula Ramakrishna Rao Bhavan to the GHMC instead of using a car.
