The ongoing pandemic continues to ring danger bells in India as more than 10,000 cases were reported in the past 24 hours raking the toll of the total cases in the country to 297535.
This is the highest slump of single-day cases in India so far. In the past 24 hours, 10,956 fresh cases were reported in the country. With this India emerged as the fourth worst-hit nation in the world by surpassing the Unitec Kingdom. US, Brazil, and Russia are the top three worst-hit nations.
The fatalities are also increasing rapidly with 300 fatalities reported in the past 24 hours that take the count of the total fatalities to 8,500. India straightaway reported over 300 fatalities for the second consecutive day.
On the other hand, Maharashtra is heading towards the one lakh-mark with 97,648 cases as the state reported 3,607 fresh cases in the past 24 hours.
National Capital Delhi too is facing the wrath of the pandemic as the capital reported the highest single-day cases with 1,877 fresh cases taking the count to cross the 34,000-mark.
Tamil Nadu also witnessed more than 1800 cases and the toll stood at 38,716. Tamil Nadu is the second worst-hit state in the country after Maharashtra.
