The inter-state travel which was suspended with the outbreak of the pandemic followed by an extended nationwide lockdown resumed between the Telugu states under Unlock 4.0 reportedly.
However, only private bus services were permitted to resume the operations between the states. Going by the restrictions, these buses made the required arrangements to follow social distancing.
With the private buses resuming its operations, now all the eyes are on the RTC bus services of both the states. A series of meetings chaired by the RTC officials didn't yield a positive outcome.
The proposals made by APSRTC did not go well with the TSRTC and vice-versa. TSRTC wants to increase its bus services to AP and asked the APSRTC to cut short the kilometers run by the buses.
APSRTC officials opined that allowing TSRTC to increase the bus services will push them into losses which makes it difficult to run the services. On the other hand, TSRTC is very firm on its decision.
Let's hope that RTC officials come with a collective effort to resume the services. Since the lockdown was imposed, the public started using their own vehicles and in some instances, they are hiring cars.
