Iran which is the second most affected country after China from where the virus was originated has once again found itself in headlines with news emerging that with the growing number of corona virus victims in the country the Iranian authorities have dug large numbers of graves in the Qom area which came into limelight with the new satellite images from Maxar.
According to the satellite images, a new section of graves was being excavated from 21 February onward in the Behesht-e Masoumeh complex in Qom, south of Tehran. By the end of February, images indicated that two large trenches (over 100 yards in length) were visible at the site from space.
Responding to the allegation, Iraj Harirchi, the deputy health minister, had called for a press conference and âcategorically deniedâ the claims.
